RULES AND CONDITIONS

Subject to the Rules of the Association and more particularly, anglers must comply with the terms of the Tweed Angling Code together with the following conditions:

1. Season- 1st April to 30th September, but only artificial fly allowed prior to 1st of May. Fishing with Spinning Rod and/or Spinning Reel, or any form of Threadline is absolutely prohibited. No Maggot Fishing or Ground Baiting is allowed at any time during the season.

2. No Permit Holder shall (a) make fires on the river bank; .(b) leave gates open; (c) take dogs; (d) interfere in any way with game; (e) sell fish caught; (f) kill salmon fry, kill trout under 9 inches in length; (g) use or fish with any illegal bait, or fish in any illegal method; (h) kill or take more than 6 brown trout in anyone day (including competitions). All salmon and sea trout kelts must be carefully returned to the water.

3. The Permit Holder is limited to taking two migratory fish per day. Fishing for salmon and sea trout is with fly only. Spinning or bait fishing are not permitted. Number and weight of migratory fish caught must be reported to the Association. nil returns are also required and should be sent in the envelope provided. Failure to submit a return will penalise the holder from obtaining a permit in future.

4. Anglers must carry a permit when fishing, and it, as well as fish, bait and tackle, must be exhibited to any Water Bailiff. Police Officer, Keeper. River Watcher. or any

authorised person, including Members of the Association, on application.

Extent of the Association water for brown trout' Canty's Bridge to ½ mile above Allanton Bridge, excluding Edington Mill stretch from footpath above cauld down to Mill Lade; Hutton Bridge up to cliff above Duncan's Mill stretch South bank only. Anglers must refer to the appropriate fishing map for salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing restrictions.

5.  Brown trout fishing only is allowed after the 1st May on Gainslaw Hill stretch between Canty's Bridge up to the Cauld, South bank only.

6.  Prior notice must be given in writing to the Secretary by all fishing parties.

7. All holders of permits must observe the following when Salmon fishing" (a) Do not start fishing in front of another angler; (b) keep moving down the pool when others are waiting to fish behind you; (c) if you wish to fish the pool again, having fished down, leave the water and take your turn at the head.

All tagged fish must be carefully returned to the water and weight and where caught recorded on the special slip provided.
