BERWICK & DISTRICT ANGLING ASSOCIATION
SALMON
Salmon fishing 1st February to 30th November. The Berwick & District Angling Association have five named beats on the lower Whiteadder. Conservation is of the utmost importance to the Association and as such we have a number of measures in force. Fishing on all beats is by fly only and no other form of fishing is allowed. Permission to fish is given subject to the rules of the Association, Beat Maps and the terms of the current Tweed Angling Code. Up to the end of June all fish have to be returned. Although Berwick & District AA encourage the return of all fish throughout the year, season ticket holders are allowed to kill one migratory fish per week Monday to Saturday, after the end of June. Both season and day permits are available and salmon permits also carry the right to fish for brown trout. Concessionary tickets are available and we allow a parent and child (OAP) shared ticket subject to conditions. Salmon anglers have NO priority over trout anglers. It is a criminal offence to fish without written permission in the form of a permit and our watchers and Tweed Bailiffs check tickets on a daily basis. The cost of salmon permits is as follows and is current as of 2012 season. SALMON SEASON £160 CLICK HERE to view current water levels in the Whiteadder at Hutton Castle.
